Planning
Booking a Kerala bridal makeup artist when you live abroad
How the consultation works over WhatsApp, what to send, and when to fit in a trial once you land.
Many Kerala brides plan their wedding from somewhere else: the Gulf, Bengaluru, the UK, Canada or the US. Booking a makeup artist from abroad works well, as long as the planning happens early and the details are shared clearly.
Start with the date and the functions
Message with your wedding date, the venue or town, and every function you need makeup for: engagement, mehendi or mylanchi, haldi, the wedding and the reception. In Kerala's busy season, from August to February, popular dates are booked months ahead, so ask as soon as your date is fixed.
What to send before the consultation
- Photos of each outfit, taken in daylight
- The jewellery you plan to wear, or photos of it
- Two or three looks you like, and one you do not
- Your hairstyle ideas, including flowers, a veil or a hijab
- Anything about your skin: sensitivity, allergies, recent treatments
The consultation happens over WhatsApp. Photos taken in daylight, without filters, are the most useful.
Fitting in a trial
If you want a trial, plan it for soon after you arrive, while there is still time to adjust the look. Trials with Makeup by Aisha are paid and scheduled around your arrival dates.
Skin when you travel
Long flights, a change of climate and jet lag all affect the skin. Keep your routine simple, drink water and avoid new treatments in the final weeks. Kerala's humidity is very different from a dry Gulf or a cold European winter, and your skin may need a few days to adjust. Our guide to skin preparation before the wedding has more.
